Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement Program

 

 

The Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement Program is an 8-session, in-person training designed to equip participants with civic knowledge, communication skills, and real-world community engagement experience.

Participants will complete eight structured sessions held Monday through Friday, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Top performers of the cohort, recognized by Council Member Susan Zhuang for their contributions to civic engagement.

  • Introduction to Government & Why Elections Matter
  • Legislative Process & How Officials Prioritize Issues
  • Research Questions, Surveys, A/B Testing & Data Analysis

Completion Benefits

Upon successful completion, participants will receive:

  • Certificate of Completion
  • Verified volunteer hours
  • Eligibility for potential paid civic engagement opportunities based on performance and interest

Performance Evaluation

Participants will be evaluated based on:

  • Seven session assignments — 35%
  • Participation — 15%
  • Final Exam — 50%

A minimum score of 75% is required to pass.

Attendance Requirement

Attendance is mandatory. One review and makeup session will be held before the final exam.
